Seriously, Where is the Plane?

It has been nearly 3 weeks since Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 mysteriously went missing.

There have been countless stories of agencies and people locating something via satellite, but in each case, there hasn't been anything of substance.

Not only that, but conspiracy theorists have come up with their own stories, including one involving an alleged Illuminati member trying to gain semiconductor patent rights, others involving passengers still showing "online" status on their social networks and phones still ringing days after the plane went missing, and lastly different flavors of terrorists plots.

I can only imagine what the families of the passengers are feeling right now as they try to gain closure without many details.

777 plane

As if the situation wasn't bad enough, the airline sent out a text message a couple of days ago to the families to announce that they concluded "all lives lost" from the flight.

The text message has sparked protests and heartbreak for the families who are involved in this ordeal and I don't blame them.  I sympathize with them.

I am not a conspiracy theorist, but it still seems like there is something that is not being said or that is being hidden from the public.

This airline has been struggling financially and who knows, maybe the crash had something to do with negligence on their part.

Now it appears they will have to make payouts to the families of the dead which may range from $5,000 to $176,000 per passenger (possibly required by the Montreal Convention of 1999 which involves death and injury to passengers), which won't help their finances to improve.

When you look at a 777 plane, it is a big plane.  Maybe I'm just ignorant of it all, but I wonder how does a plane that big just disappear.

Then again, when I look at the massive area that is being searched for the plane or debris, it is more understandable why it would take some time.  Imagine that you only knew that a plane traveled somewhere over the United States and crashed.  Starting with just that information to find it would take a very long time.
