If you know me personally or have been reading my blog for any amount of time, you probably know that I love to read books by inspirational people and entrepreneurs.
I also love to listen to podcasts and watch videos from successful people.
Success stories amaze me and there is one thing that sticks out to me in most cases. Successful people believe they can be successful.
Ever since I decided to write this post, I have seen half a dozen other writers mention something about the importance of your mindset in accomplishing your goals.
One thing that holds most people back (including myself sometimes) is we don't BELIEVE strongly enough that we can succeed. We give in to fear and doubt and the thoughts in our head that we will fall flat on our face.
The truth is, in many cases, we can surprise ourselves with how successful we can be in the things that we are passionate about.
Whether you want to start a new business, write a book, give a speech, connect with a mentor, or do some other great venture, it is possible if you get over the negative mindset and take action.
Sometimes I go back to a book called The Magic of Thinking Big to re-adjust my mindset and to read examples where punching fear in the face (phrase from Jon Acuff) prevails.
We are not promised success in every endeavor, but if we don't even try, we surely won't ever attain success. (Tweet This)
Today, I'm going to step out of my comfort zone. I'm going to email that potential client. I'll ask that successful person if they are available for lunch. I'll set a deadline for my book project and not look back. I believe in God's work through me and I intend to step out in it.
Question: What is something you have had trouble believing about yourself? What steps are you taking or did you take to overcome negative beliefs?
