1 ) I am a Christian
I grew up in church, but it wasn’t until I was 21 that I made a decision to truly follow Christ. Since that time, I have not looked back.
2 ) I have been a webmaster for 14 years
I became a webmaster while working at a technology support help desk that I now help to manage. I’ve been maintaining that department’s website and others for a decade.
3 ) I was considered a nerd in high school
People actually thought of me as a nerd in school. I was an above-average student, but I was not naturally a genius. I’ve known people who could do very little studying and get an A on tests. I was not that person. I had to study very hard to earn good grades.
4 ) I don’t consider myself to be a technology genius
When I get in technology circles, I actually feel lost sometimes. I wonder what they are talking about and have to look things up. People consider me a technology expert because I know a lot about computers and technology and how to use them, but I can’t say that I know the really technical things about hardware, servers, and networks. It really lets me know the huge gap that exists in technical knowledge.
5 ) I have always been an entrepreneur
For as long as I can remember, I’ve had a mind for business. I used to convince my suppliers (aka my Parents) to provide me with boxes of candy from Sam’s Club, and I would sell them for 100% profit. I even had teachers who were regular customers.
6 ) I prefer listening rather than reading
I love learning and gaining knowledge about lots of things. My preference is to listen to the information rather than sit and read. Many days, I listen to my daily bible reading. It makes the experience more lively to me. I have also listened to thousands of hours of podcasts.
7 ) I can still do a back flip
Beginning in kindergarten, I started informal gymnastics. We would stack tires and do a flip off them. I took gymnastics classes in middle school and I really enjoyed it. I can still do a back flip (off the diving board or on the ground).

8 ) I have more than 10 email addresses
No technology guy should have less than 5 email addresses. Seriously though, I run quite a few websites. Each one needs its own set of email addresses. There are also addresses that I use just in case someone decides to start spamming. I can drop that address and quickly use another.
9 ) I can name the 50 states in alphabetical order
When I was in the 5th grade, our choir teacher taught us a song that consisted of the names of the 50 states in alphabetical order. I never forgot that song and can still sing it. It has definitely come in handy at times.
10 ) My favorite sport to play is basketball. My favorite sport to watch is football.
I have been told that I am pretty good at basketball. I can’t dunk like I used to in high school, but I’ve still got the fundamentals. I play full-court 5 on 5 basketball during lunch nearly every Monday-Thursday in our gym at work. I don’t care for watching basketball very much, though. Football, on the other hand, is a game that I love to watch.
